Hans J.

Paraplegia caused by a gunshot injury

In 2022, former professional boxer Hans J. became the victim of an attempted murder. He was shot twice — once in the pelvis and once in the first thoracic vertebra (T1).

Mr. J. survived the attack, but the bullet that struck his first thoracic vertebra caused severe spinal cord damage. Since then, he has been living with paraplegia beginning at the level of the first thoracic vertebra (T1).

Fortunately, his health insurance company enabled him to participate several times in an intensive physiotherapeutic rehabilitation program, during which his motor abilities improved slightly.

It was not until 2025 that Mr. J. came across IMF NeuroRehab by chance. Since beginning regular use of the program, he has shown continuous and functionally meaningful progress. His upper body has become visibly more stable, and his ability to straighten his pelvis and hips has significantly improved over the course of weeks and months. These developments can be clearly observed in the videos shown below.
